"The World is Your Oyster," is a detailed watercolor painting capturing the delicate intricacies of one of nature’s simplest forms—an oyster on a half shell.  Delving into the artistic subtleties of the unique textures and stunning coloration, allowed me to showcase the oyster’s remarkable iridescent layers of beauty hiding a delicious delicacy beneath its hardened exterior.

Inspired by childhood memories of annual oyster roasts to celebrate my December birthday, in my charming, coastal hometown of Wilmington, NC, my heart beckoned me to rediscover those memories while showcasing nature’s undeniable treasure.  I invite you to celebrate the miraculous beauty that awaits you every day.  To explore the extraordinary within the ordinary, and to see the world through a lens of wonder and possibilities. 

Although a hobby artist my entire life, it was not until summer of 2024, when I completed the painting of this simple oyster, that my own destiny presented itself to me.  Initially not having the confidence and belief that my artwork was marketable, this painting’s physical attributes and “The World is Your Oyster” mantra resonated with me. Just a few short months later, coincidently on my 54th birthday, I began a new journey of my own and opened my art business thus sharing my talents and treasures with others. I soon realized that my paintings, previously kept under wraps as they were private and personal to me, were both beautiful as well as purposeful and NEEDED to be shared with the world. Ironically, the very first painting I sold was “The World is Your Oyster”.  This unique painting and its message have become one of my biggest sellers to date.  I never imagined that only four months after launching my website that I would be hiring employees to help keep up with the demands these paintings, and their accompanying stories had created.  Confirming to me that the world is indeed your oyster—with endless opportunities and an abundance of treasures.  Anything is achievable, IF you believe in yourself as well as focus on the joyful opportunities and always strive to reach your fullest potential.
